Once there was a young gentleman named Ben. Ben was a working employee and a very kind person. Well, he was not kind by himself, but there was someone who taught him to be kind to others. Let’s keep it for the end. One fine day, Ben was walking down the street to buy donuts. He saw a bakery and decided to go there to buy donuts. As soon as he picked up some donuts and went to the counter for billing, he saw a small boy requesting his father to buy a cake for his grandfather. “It’s grandpa’s birthday, you told you will buy a cake for him”, the little one cried. “I want to buy a cake but….(he did not have enough money ), we’ll buy some other day. We have bought chocolates for him. See, they look so delicious”, said his father. The boy seemed unhappy but did not say anything and they both left the bakery. Ben was seeing all this standing behind them. As soon as the duo left the bakery, Ben took a beautiful cake and ran behind them. He stopped and tried to give them the cake. The small boy denied. “We don’t have enough money to pay you, we can’t take this”, said the little boy. Ben said, “It is not necessary to pay me, if you do the same act of kindness to someone else I will be more than happy.” The boy looked at his father and it seemed as if he asked through his eyes, “Can I take this for Grandpa?” His father smiled and was grateful to Ben for making his day. They took the cake and went home happily. Grandpa was very happy to see his birthday cake but at the same time he wondered where did it come from, because he knew very clearly that his son is not in a good financial conditions. But the smile on his grandson’s face made him forget all his sorrows.

As he opened the bag of cake he saw a chit in it. After seeing the chit, he recalled that it was definitely Ben who had given him that cake. But, it was very surprising that how he knew Ben and how he was so sure about it. The secret is here!

The chit was too old, nearly 15–20 years old, had yellow marks on it and had a smiley on it and the chit said, “Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Surprisingly it was grandpa’s handwriting, the chit that he wrote 20 years back to a small child when he did not have money to buy a cake for his father. There were tears in grandpa’s eyes, he was happy to see that the boy he helped remembered him and his words and repaid the act of kindness to him unknowingly.

So, be Kind to others, because, Kindness is giving hope to those who think they are all alone in this world.
